It is a direct substitute for ordinary pool filter sand. It is a true 21st century filter medium with both ion exchange and superior micro-filtration properties. Removes 40-50% more dirt than regular filter sand or glass. Scavenges ammonia, reducing chlorine consumption and saving on pool chemicals. Long-lasting, with replacements needed only every 2-3 years.
