JOB OVERVIEW
The Cashier is responsible for all sale-processing activities and contributing to the successful operation of the branch by servicing customers, merchandising and the promotion of products and initiatives at the point of sale.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the execution of the day-to-day point of sales activities of the branch.
- Ensure excellent customer satisfaction, always!
- Process all sales and refunds efficiently through point of sale using a variety of tender types in line with SOP’s.
- Ensure the cash float is handled and stored in line with SOP’s.
- Perform timely cash-ups of the cash float and investigate discrepancies where they occur.
- Develop appropriate product and speciality knowledge to assist customers with products merchandised at point of sale.
- Ensure point of sale is always clean and presentable, with impulse buys rotated and promoted.
- Promotions:
- Develop appropriate functional & appealing displays around the point of sale area.
- Convey the value and savings of the deals to customers.
- Actively promote company initiatives within the store.
SUPPORT ROLES (ADHOC)
- Assist with merchandising and stock replenishment
- Assist customers on the sales floor
- Assist with the receipt of stock and maintenance of the warehouse
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Matric certificate
- Computer literate
- Good level of skill on retail ERP programs
- 3-5 years retail cashier experience
